Don’t you get tired of seeing the same hospital, EMS, emergency department, and legal graphics on all of the articles and websites online? I know I sure do, and I hate having to search for pictures that I can legally use.
So I had an idea — take a picture of your hospital, its Emergency signs, EMS vehicles in the ED bay, your trauma room, waiting room, triage room, law library for you lawyers in the crowd, or any other EMTALA, HIPAA, emergency department, EMS, or legal item or concept and send it to me as sfrew (at sign) medlaw.com and we will use it to illustrate articles, websites, and training materials. If we get enough of them, we will make a bundle available for folks to use in their own training materials.
There are a few rules to make sure we don’t violate any copyright or privacy laws.
- I cannot use the photo unless I have a release from you. It is simple — just file it out (sample available to download at medlaw.com/photorelease.pdf ) and paste it into your email and attach the photo(s)
- I cannot use the photo if it has any people in the photo unless you provide a model release for each person in the photo (sample model release is available to download at medlaw.com/modelrelease.pdf ). Complete the release form and attach it to the photos.
- Do not include any pictures of patients. Period. Bad idea! Even with permission.
