As you may recall, I have participated in some of the Abaris Group’s programs and shared the stage at live presentations with their President Mike Williams. I am passing this information along regarding this new program (I am not involved):
The Abaris Group announced it’s upcoming webinar to help prepare for the impact associated with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recent release of the draft regulations covering the 2014 physician fee schedule (including emergency medicine, critical care and subspecialty support for EDs, among other covered physicians) and the hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) fee schedule, including draft rules for EDs and trauma centers. The program will be presented Tuesday, August 13, 2013 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM PDT
“These are the most substantial changes to the OPPS rules since the inception of OPPS in 2008 and with a potential significant impact on EDs and Trauma Centers and their providers.” said Mike Williams, President at The Abaris Group. “For a nominal investment, this webinar helps ED and trauma center managers, ED medical directors, CEOs, CMOs, COOs, Vice Presidents, billers and coders, EMS directors, first responders, medical compliance officers, revenue managers, inpatient managers and directors, educators, hospital IT staff, and hospital administrators prepare for these impending changes.”
About the Webinar
The 90-minute webinar will concentrate on steps necessary to navigate these regulations for both hospitals and physicians. Among the points of focus will be the impact of the draft 2014 CMS OPPS fee schedule for hospitals that affects EDs and trauma centers; as well as the revenue strategies that might offset any negative impact of the proposed 2014 CMS fee schedule. For physicians, in addition to other learning points, the webinar will look at why the CMS is trying to align clinic and ED visits and what is the impact on the proposed changes on physicians as part of this proposed policy.
